We are a family run recruitment agency for doctors and we are here to make your job search fun. We have jobs for doctors all across Australia and New Zealand.

An overview
What we do
Doctors On The Fly partner with hospitals and clinics throughout Australia and New Zealand to find doctors to cover shortfalls in their rosters. This could be a gap of one shift, a 3 month contract, a permanent opportunity and every other possible scenario in between.
Our particular specialty at Doctors On The Fly is flying our doctors off to cover locum shifts in the more rural and remote areas of Australia and NZ. This tends to go hand in hand with our doctors getting to explore some of the most breathtaking scenery these two countries have to offer; it’s all a part of the locum adventure.
We send doctors to towns that you’ve likely never even heard of. We are the middle man between you and the hospitals or clinics, meaning we take care of things like sorting out your shifts, getting you paid on time and any compliance and clinical scope of practice paperwork requirements.
Flights, accommodation and a car are almost always provided as a part of the package, we can also help you access salary packaging and other benefits. Doctors On The Fly will be on hand to support and advise you every step of the journey.

The road to locuming
The road to becoming a locum looks different for everybody. While there are similarities among the reasons doctors locum, there is no set mould that you have to fit into.
You might have decided to take some time out of your training program to recharge or catch up on study, but you don’t want to stop earning money. Or you are chasing the surf and want shifts in a department situated near the best breaks on the coast. You could be saving up for a house deposit.
Perhaps you have dropped down to 0.5FTE in your large tertiary hospital and want to travel and make a difference to a small remote community on your days off. You’ve reached the end of your full time career and decide to pack up and hit the road in a campervan with your loved one and your dog called Rover.

How our sign up process works
An informal chat to kick things off
We like to get to know our doctors, so before you have to start filling out any official documents, let’s chat. We speak with you about what you are looking for, give you a chance to ask any questions, then we come up with a plan of action as to how we can best look after you. Either give us a call, shoot us an email, or send us your contact details via our (very simple) sign up form in the contact page.
next is paperwork & compliance
We focus on getting the basics right before promising you the earth. There will definitely be paperwork involved (especially so you can get paid on time), but we have fine-tuned this process over many years of working in the industry. We have come up with a system that makes this as easy as possible and keeps you updated every step of the way, we promise we don’t send you the same form twice.

We work with you to find a job that matches your skills, roster preferences, desired location, preferred rates and any other things that are important to you. We will book you into your assignments and take care of all of your travel and accommodation requirements. Need oversized luggage for that surfboard? A cot for your young child? We’ll help sort that for you. Pack your bags, you’re going locuming!
